Additional Care Units
Northwest Medical Center offers several specialized critical care units:
- Cardiovascular ICU - Northwest Medical Center's cardiovascular ICU is dedicated to post-open heart surgery patients, heart attack patients and those with other cardiovascular diagnoses. The nursing staff requires intense, specialized training in order to work on this unit.
- Med/Surg ICU - Northwest Medical Center and Oro Valley Hospital’s med/surg ICUs specialize in the care of the critically ill patient with a variety of medical, surgical and neurological diagnoses. The nursing staff requires intense, specialized training in order to work on this unit.
- Acute Care Telemetry Unit (ACT) - Northwest Medical Center and Oro Valley Hospital’s ACT units are dedicated to patients who are transitioning from ICU but still need more advanced care than in the telemetry unit.
