Volunteer Opportunities
If you're passionate about community service, care deeply for people and have the time and energy, we'd love to have you volunteer with Northwest Healthcare
Volunteers play a vital role in meeting the non-medical needs of patients.
Volunteering is fun, but it's also a commitment. We ask volunteers to contribute at least four hours per week and commit to a minimum of six months (about 100 hours) with us. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
Hospital volunteers must comply with strict government regulations. These regulations are designed to make sure the hospitals are safe places for patients, visitors, staff and volunteers.
Please download and complete an application and email it. You may also mail it to:
Northwest Medical Center
Volunteer Office
6200 N La Cholla Blvd.
Tucson, AZ 85741
After we receive your application, we will call you for an interview. Please bring the following to the appointment:
- Two letters of recommendation from non-family members which discuss your suitability to volunteer in the hospital setting.
- Copies of your immunization records reflecting immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox (varicella), tetanus TB, and COVID-19. If you are unable to provide proof, you will be tested for immunity.
- A photo ID
- Your Social Security number
How Soon Will I Be Able to Begin Volunteering?
First you must be interviewed. During the interview, we will:
- Select a volunteer position for you.
- Ask adults to sign a release for a criminal background check. You will need to bring your social security number for this.
- Give you information on purchasing your uniforms in the gift shop for a discounted price.
- Give you training materials to complete and bring with you to orientation.
- Give you information on scheduling an appointment with the employee health department for any necessary immunity tests and a drug screening.
Volunteering is a great way to stay active both mentally and physically, meet new people and make a difference in the community.
