We are proud to mentor and coach the next generation of doctors in Southern Arizona
TUCSON, AZ – Northwest Healthcare’s graduate medical education (GME) family medicine program has been accredited by The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the body responsible for accrediting all graduate medical training programs for physicians in the United States.
“I am incredibly excited to begin family medicine education at Northwest with this amazing group of young doctors,” said GME family medicine program director Lyndsey Kramp, M.D.
With this important step, our FM program becomes our third GME division, along with internal medicine (established in June 2023) and the transitional year program (established in July 2024). Nine new FM resident physicians matched with the program in March, and will begin training at Northwest Medical Center and/or Oro Valley Hospital on July 1, 2025.
Our GME program was created and designed to expand access to medical education and to care for patients in the Southern Arizona communities we serve. Our diverse, experienced faculty physicians guide resident physicians at the beginning of their careers, as they learn to manage a broad range of medical services and patient care.
“By investing in the next generation of physicians, we are strengthening access to high-quality care and a healthier future for Southern Arizona,” said Northwest Healthcare Market CEO Brian Sinotte, FACHE.
“As the demand for physicians continues to grow nationwide, Northwest Healthcare is committed to being part of the solution. We are dedicated to helping address the shortage of primary care providers in our region, and to supporting all doctors as they accomplish their professional goals at every stage of their careers.”
Northwest Healthcare thanks the new family medicine residents for choosing us – and the GME program for their dedication.
