Oro Valley Hospital Opens New Skilled Nursing Unit
3/28/2022
Northwest Healthcare’s Oro Valley Hospital is home to a brand-new skilled nursing unit, or SNU, for the care and comfort of patients recovering from a broad range of illnesses and injuries.
We offer 33 comfortable private rooms (some with mountain views); individualized physical, occupational and speech therapy; and the services of a dedicated activities director. In addition, physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers, dieticians and other professionals work together on-site to help patients return to their lives outside the hospital.
The SNU welcomes patient for short-term stays (usually less than 21 days) who have medically complex needs but who no longer require acute care inpatient services.
"We are excited to offer this important service to the patients we serve," said Cameron Lewis, the hospital's chief administrative officer. "The SNU supports our community by bridging the gap between the inpatient environment and home. In addition to helping provide a smooth transition of care, the unit helps to decompress hospitals during these busy times."
The SNU is located on the third floor of OVH. To learn more, call (520) 901-6401 or visit healthiertucson.com/skilled-nursing-care.
